This is a role for a Speech and Language Therapist with neurological or respiratory experience, looking for a new opportunity where they will be supported to develop and achieve their goals to become the best they can be. The role is at the Lakefields Neurological Centre in Chigwell, which is a 22-bed service that delivers specialist 24-hour nursing and therapy services for people with complex long-term neurological conditions.
Main duties of the job
The Speech and Language Therapist will have experience in managing a designated caseload using theoretical and practical experience, completing assessments, planning, implementing interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans. They will have a strong emphasis on teamwork and receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals, as well as access to a variety of training courses to support them in reaching their career goals.
Job responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
* Demonstrate specialist skills in dealing with complex cases, cultural and linguistic differences, and to generate appropriate strategies for caseload management.
* Undertake audits and contribute to research in the provision of treatments.
* Specialist knowledge in the areas of acquired communication and swallowing disorders.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
* Band 7 Level Practitioner or equivalent
* HCPC registration
* Experience of managing a caseload involving assessment and treatment of dysphagia
* Experience of working with families
* Evidence of continuing Professional Development
