Location : Liverpool or Remote (UK only)
We're looking for a Technical Artist or Senior VFX Artist to leverage their expertise in the latest VFX art pipelines and techniques on an exciting new console title.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will work with programmers and VFX team to develop and maintain on implementation and optimization of visual effects:
* Working with the art, programming and design team to help setup initial pipelines and support their day-to-day VFX needs.
* Support the VFX team by creating and maintaining various effect systems and game assets such as geometry, full-screen post effects, custom shaders and Niagara graphs.
* Create and maintain a library of VFX focused in engine shaders and materials.
* Debug and assist fixing VFX issues within the game.
* Stay up to date on trends and methodologies in current and future graphics software and hardware to develop early planning of tools and processes.
* Creating technical and style guides to help communicate the VFX workflow, and increase knowledge and efficiency through the team.
Job requirements
Required Experience
* Highly knowledgeable with Unreal Engine.
* A solid understanding of node-based editors and particle systems such as Niagara.
* A solid understanding of 3D and 2D VFX and art pipelines within games.
* Cinematic experience while using Sequencer and other Unreal tools.
* Experience with scripting languages such as Python, Mel, Max Script.
* An understanding of shaders.
* Good overall artistic ability in visual effects.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Desired Experience
* Shipped a game using Unreal Engine.
* Knowledge of Houdini.
* Experience on AAA console games.

Important:
The interview process for the VFX Technical Artist role is made up of 3 stages:
* First interview (45 - 60 minutes) - An interview to discuss your experience and working history relating to the position with members of our VFX team. In return, we will provide a full overview of the role, life at the studio as well as answer any questions you may have.
* Second interview (45 - 60 minutes) - An interview to discuss your experience with our Art team and learn more about the project.
* Final interview (30 minutes) - A final Interview with our Studio Head and Studio Production Director. This will be a chance for you to get to know the Senior Management team and all the things that make Lucid, Lucid! You will have a lot of opportunities to ask any questions about the studio and Culture.
