Job Summary
We are seeking highly skilled Respiratory Nurses to join our dynamic team at NHS sites across Leicestershire. As a Spirometry Specialist, you will hold the Association for Respiratory Technology & Physiology (ARTP) qualification.
Working for Edrece you will play a key role in delivering high quality spirometry services that adhere to NICE guidelines. Your expertise will help ensure early, accurate diagnoses and effective management of respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and a streamlined healthcare system.
Key Responsibilities
* Spirometry Testing: you will support our Team of Healthcare Assistants who deliver spirometry tests, with reporting in accordance with established clinical protocols and NICE guidelines, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
* Interpretation and Communication: Analyse and interpret spirometry results, providing clear, concise explanations to patients and collaborating with local healthcare professionals to determine the best course of action.
* Patient Management: Develop and contribute to personalised care plans by working closely with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring that patients receive the right care at the right time.
* Data Management: Accurately record, manage, and report patient data to support quality assurance and continuous service improvement initiatives.
* Collaboration and Training: Engage with the centralised Edrece support network to share best practices, participate in ongoing training, and support other team members and NHS staff as required.
* Quality and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of clinical care, meeting the 2024 commissioning standards for spirometry and ensuring adherence to all relevant protocols and guidelines.
Qualifications and Experience
* Registered Nurse (RN) with current registration (e.g., with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or equivalent).
* Possession of an ARTP Diploma in Spirometry or equivalent certification is essential.
* Demonstrated experience in performing and interpreting spirometry tests, preferably within an NHS or similar clinical environment.
* Strong understanding of respiratory conditions such as asthma and COPD, with the ability to effectively communicate diagnostic outcomes and care plans.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to high quality patient care.
* IT literacy for data management and reporting is required.
Working Conditions
* You will be based at various NHS sites across Leicestershire, requiring occasional travel between locations.
