We are seeking to appoint a Senior Officer - Learning Estate to provide co-ordination within the Education Strategy & Operations Team of short, medium and long term planning aligned with the Learning Estate Strategy in collaboration with other services across East Lothian Council. The post holder will operationally support the implementation of the Strategy and the associated Learning Estate Improvement Plan; liaising with Council Services and schools from a corporate Education perspective. The post will help the Service Manager to support all aspects of estate development, from early years and schools to outdoor learning and arrangements for delivery of regional employability and training opportunities for young people and adults. This is an exciting and demanding new role within the Strategy & Operations Team and candidates should be able to evidence a good working knowledge of a learning estate from an education perspective to contribute effectively in representing the Education Leadership Team vision for schools of the future. The post is open to secondment and candidates should discuss and have agreement for release in principle from their existing line manager. Job Details Lead on the ongoing delivery and evaluation of the East Lothian Learning Estate Improvement Plan, co-ordinating option appraisals and leading on statutory consultation processes relating to Education Learning Assets. To review the Learning Estate aligned to Local Development Plans against catchment areas, pupil roll projections and asset data (condition and suitability). To rationalise the Learning Estate to ensure East Lothian has a fit for purpose portfolio with a long-term vision on investment, expansion and replacement that is sustainable. Monitor the Early Years, Primary and Secondary school estate, including ASN provision, prepare forward plans and identify budgets for its future improvement and development.
