Job Title: Social Worker – Family Safeguarding Team
Location: Cambridgeshire
Position Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary Range: £38,258 - £40,958 per annum (depending on experience)
The Team:
The teams handle intricate caseloads involving Child in Need, Children in need of Protection, Public Law Outline, and care proceedings, with a focus on children up to 12 years old. They adopt a Motivational Interviewing approach, collaborating with children and their families to facilitate sustainable change and enhance outcomes for children. Supported by a multidisciplinary team comprising adult mental health workers, drug and alcohol recovery workers, and adult domestic abuse workers, along with a tailored intervention model, this presents an exciting and innovative opportunity to be part of these teams. Primary Responsibilities:
* Apply professional expertise to navigate complex situations, making decisive judgments. Identify and respond to needs by highlighting strengths and devising SMART plans to achieve clear outcomes, with a focus on prioritising the child's perspective in all assessments and interventions.
* Serve as a representative of Cambridgeshire County Council, fostering collaboration with key agencies to develop effective strategies and plans. Contribute to enhancing integrated services and policy frameworks to elevate the quality of care for service users.
* Stay informed of social policy, organisational protocols, and relevant legislation. Maintain professional registration and actively engage in continuous development initiatives to strengthen our skilled workforce.
* Uphold professional standards and principles, maintaining accurate records and advocating for the empowerment of service users.
Essential Requirements:
* Hold a recognised professional Social Work qualification (Degree/Masters/Post Graduate Diploma/Social Work fast track qualifying programme).
* Possess relevant specialist post-qualifying and/or post-graduate training.
* Hold a valid UK driver's license with the ability to work from various locations and travel countywide.
* Demonstrate proven knowledge and understanding of child development, parenting capacity, environmental factors, and risk and protective factors.
* Have knowledge of relevant safeguarding legislation, statutory guidance, and procedures.
* Exhibit the ability to maintain high-quality records, writing clear, concise, child-centred reports and plans.
* Demonstrate the ability to establish rapport and build relationships with children/young people and their families using a person-centred, strengths-based approach
