Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear (CNTW) NHS Foundation Trust
An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen to work as a Specialist Occupational Therapist within the North Northumberland Community Treatment Team for working age adults across our two sites in Alnwick and Berwick. This is a great opportunity to be part of the community transformation agenda and to help shape the future of mental health services.
We are looking for a highly motivated, experienced Occupational Therapist to join our friendly welcoming team. The role is focused on assessing occupational needs, working collaboratively with service users to improve their mental health and overall wellbeing within the community setting. You will apply specialist interventions to enable people to actively participate in their home lives and their local communities, connecting with statutory and third sector agencies to help develop skills to improve their independence and safety.
You will be expected to assess and manage a caseload of complex presentations using your clinical reasoning to assess how mental health problems impact upon occupation and performance in people's daily lives. Applicants must have the ability to work autonomously and as part of an existing Occupational Therapy and Multidisciplinary Team.
We are keen to support personal and professional development with plenty of opportunities available to do so. You will be supported with regular clinical and management supervision.
Main Duties of the Job

3. To consider Carer needs and ensure Carer and family are involved in Care Planning where appropriate.
4. To deliver evidenced-based Occupational therapy interventions.
5. The post holder will work as a member of the Multi-disciplinary Team ensuring that high quality individualised care is delivered which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing and maximising independence.
6. Coordinate treatment planning & interventions, reviews and discharge planning.
7. Provide clinical supervision and leadership to staff as delegated by Clinical Lead.
8. To provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
9. To incorporate a client centred philosophy into clinical practice and client centred collaborative care.
10. To act as an identified deputy in the absence of the Clinical Lead.
