The Role
As a Principal Ecologist, you will be responsible for delivering a wide variety of ecological projects.
You will collaborate with technical specialists, mentor junior team members, and engage with clients to provide expert advice.
* Lead and deliver ecological surveys, including protected species assessments and habitat assessments.
* Manage complex ecological projects from inception to completion, ensuring quality outcomes.
* Support and mentor junior ecologists, fostering growth and sharing your expertise.
* Contribute to business development by building relationships with clients and identifying new opportunities.
* Engage with multidisciplinary teams to deliver nature-based solutions that leave a lasting impact.
You will be an experienced ecologist with a solid understanding of UK environmental legislation, habitat assessments, and protected species surveys.
Essential Attributes:
* Degree in ecology, environmental science, or a related field.
* Solid technical knowledge of ecological survey methodologies, species identification, and relevant environmental legislation.
* Experience in managing projects and mentoring team members.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to build solid client relationships.
* A proactive attitude with a passion for promoting sustainable solutions.
* UK Driving Licence
Desirable:
* Level 2 bat licence
* Ornithology specialism
* Experience delivering training for junior ecologists.
* Knowledge of GIS/CAD tools for survey planning and data management.
