About you
* You are a current or previous customer of Home Group or currently live in a Home Group property.
* Ideally, you have GCSEs in English and maths, but don’t worry if not, you will complete these as part of your apprenticeship learning.
* We’re a high-tech organisation so we need you to have good IT skills or be keen and willing to learn all of the basics such as Outlook and Teams, plus some specific tools relevant to the role.
* You’ll have a passion for people from all different walks of life and will enjoy getting to know and understand their barriers, goals and aspirations in life.
* With a curious and interested mind, you’ll want to ask lots of questions to learn everything you can during your apprenticeship and our team are keen and ready to pass on their knowledge to help you develop your skills.
* A genuine interest in and commitment to learning and personal and professional development – this is a learning role after all!
Our team
James, the service manager, encourages the team to apply their own insights and interests to better engage and support our customers. For example, both of our night workers speak other languages which has been valuable for supporting some of the refugees we currently house.
We have regular team events outside of work, like ‘escape room adventures’ and ‘crazy golf competitions’, which really helps us get to know each other better. Three of our team members are completing adult care worker Diplomas so there will always be support for an Apprentice joining the service, studying towards qualifications.
Job details
* You will be doing a level 2 Adult Care Work qualification, and this will last 15 months. You’ll gain stacks of experience to help you launch your career.
* Many of our apprentices secure a permanent role with us so who knows where you’ll end up in the future!
* It’s important you’re at work when our team are around to support you so, although hours of work are usually 9am-5pm, flexibility is important. We’ll also ask you to work different days or times if there is something happening you can learn from, so that your experience is broad and diverse.
* You will have built in time (20% of your working week) for study and support for working towards your qualification.
* You’ll need an Enhanced DBS check and we pay for that.
