This role is responsible for developing and implementing data and digital across all Retail Categories including retail, F&B, Media and Premium Services. Reporting to the Retail Director, you will be responsible for the overall performance of retail partners including financial performance, passenger experience, brand and product selection, pricing policy, margin contribution, and all business cases. This senior role is a member of the Retail Leadership Team that sets and delivers the whole Retail Strategy and is a key leader as a member of the Extended Leadership Team (ELT) working on initiatives to 'Realise our Massive Potential for Growth' including both commercial projects to grow passenger numbers and income and People matters to develop our talent.
Responsibilities
* Ensuring the development and delivery of category strategies to maximise retail income and continuously improve passenger experience.
* Developing relationships and strong influence with other stakeholders including Heathrow's Development and Operations team and Marketing and digital team as well as directly with Retail category team.
* Leading all activity related to retail data: data validation, cleansing, reconciliation and best practice techniques.
* Providing thought leadership related to all data led activity within the retail team with appropriate challenge across the business.
* Designing and delivering a data and digital strategy to ensure the needs of category are met.
* Identifying and appointing world-class brands and concepts that are suitable for the Heathrow passenger.
* Leading, coaching, motivating and inspiring direct reports to meet their personal and business objectives.
* Being accountable for commercial audit, health and safety, risk register and compliance.
Qualifications
* Significant experience in a commercial role at Heathrow Retail or a high street/airport retail environment.
* Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, etc.).
* Demonstrable experience of design and implementation data management principles, data quality frameworks, and data governance best practices.
* Data-driven and evidence-based decision making and strategy setting.
* Significant experience in the digital space, e-commerce, design, sales and implementation of business cases for projects that deliver incremental income and passenger experience.
* Strong written and verbal communications with experience in drafting corporate documents for a wide range of audiences, including Director and Executive level and external partner MD Global level.
* Experience of negotiating commercial contracts valued in £m's as well as multi-£m business case development and execution.
Ideally you will also have:
* An understanding of regulated environments.
* Experience of working within cross functional / multidisciplinary teams.
