Estates and Facilities provide a service across several university buildings and to a large student and staff population.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Maintenance Manager to join the team who will support on the provision and delivery of support and expertise relating to the management of all building & asset information across the Estates and Facilities Directorate. You will also have responsibility for delivering a range of general and specialised reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance, via a team of direct labour across teaching and residential estate. This will include the leadership and management of minor works.
You will be the Responsible Person for Estates and Facilities compliance matters and will advise designated Duty Holders on compliance related works, including Water Hygiene & Asbestos and provide the department with support, guidance and governance of HSE matters and updating policies, reporting and planning of HSE and compliance schedules and activities.
You will support and deputise for the Estates Maintenance Manager in their absence to provide the Estate with a continuous level of day-to-day delivery and operational service.
What you can bring
The successful candidate will be educated to Level 4 in a Maintenance/Facilities management discipline. You will have experience in successfully managing and leading diverse teams and have experience in mechanical/electrical engineering in a Facilities setting (Hard FM).
