The ideal candidate will be fully competent and ARCP qualified to perform respiratory reviews on patients of all ages as well as being fully accredited to perform cervical smears.
The post holder of this vacancy will work across Shadsworth Surgery and Lambeth Street Surgery with a supportive and experienced team of clinicians, including GPs, Advanced Practitioners, PNs, NAs and HCAs.
Main duties of the job
Key responsibilities of the role will require the postholder to:
1. Provide care for patients with long term conditions, especially those with respiratory disease (asthma and COPD), cardiovascular disease and diabetes, following recognised national and local guidelines.
2. Provide vaccination services for patients in the practice, including routine childhood immunisation programmes.
3. Undertake health screening for a number of patient groups, and monitor patients with particular needs (or on particular medication). This must include cervical smears and NHS Health Checks.
4. Promote healthy living for all patients, and provide specific lifestyle advice to patients with chronic disease and who may be at risk. Participate in education programs initiated by the practice and assist in the teaching of nursing and medical students as appropriate.
5. Ensure that all patient records are maintained accurately, that all other necessary paperwork is completed, and that all duties are carried out in a professional manner.
