This is an exciting time to join Royal Mail as we're in the process of transforming towards a parcel led business. At the heart of this will be our National Distribution operation who move our parcels across a vast network throughout the UK. As a Transport Office Manager, you'll facilitate the effective running of our transport office at Gatwick Vehicle Operation Centre.
What does the role involve?
Reporting to the Distribution Manager, you will lead and inspire a front-line team of 25 drivers of large goods vehicles (7.5tn and above). You'll professionalise distribution, ensuring operational work plans are achieved and that our pipeline optimises the flow of parcels and mail, while maintaining compliance with business policies, national work plan and Standard Operating Procedures.
You will deliver results and a better service to our customers through your team by demonstrating trust in all colleagues. Using your excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder management skills, you'll build effective relationships with key stakeholders, both internally and externally. You will achieve this working closely alongside our trade union representatives.

As this is an extremely interesting and varied role, we are looking for candidates who are flexible, can work under pressure and possess excellent leadership and communication skills. As a leader within the business, you must demonstrate evidence on your CV of the following:

Shift pattern:
Thursday 05:30 to 18:30, Friday 05:30 to 18:30, and Saturday 05:30 to 20:30
