Waythrough launched in October 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Our vision is to break down the barriers that stop people getting the support they need to live a life they value. We tackle poverty and disadvantage in communities, through mental health, drug and alcohol, housing and related support.
We have almost 200 services around England – and nearly 3,500 amazing staff and volunteers who run them. Every year our services support around 125,000 people.
We support vulnerable people, often with histories including substance misuse, offending, mental ill health and homelessness, to overcome barriers and achieve social inclusion. Come and help us make this happen!
About the role…
An opportunity has arisen to join our successful The Greens Service in Sheffield as a Senior Practitioner. Based in Sheffield, a modern accommodation and drug and alcohol-free support service that can support people to build their independence and move on.
We help people to develop skills such as managing money and eating healthily, supporting them to maintain recovery, as well as helping with accommodation, one-to-one support, and group programmes. Support includes improving mental and physical health, managing money, building confidence, maintaining recovery, education, training, and employment.
Feeling part of the community can be a large part of sustaining recovery. We support people to do that and learn how to maintain a healthy lifestyle. Waythrough’s Independent Living Unit offers a range of housing-related support services, advice, and guidance to help people obtain accommodation and progress towards sustained independent living in the community.
Main duties & about you...
The role is to manage a team of support workers who provide outreach support to our clients in the community. This will follow a rota of 8-4, 9-5, and 12-8 shifts involving occasional weekend working to supervise out-of-hours staff. A driving licence is required due to different locations.
The post holder will work as part of a wider team to provide focused ongoing assessment and housing support. The role calls for strong working relationships with a range of accommodation and community support stakeholders, and as such, close working relationships with current relevant support providers will be essential.
The post holder will need to be knowledgeable around housing options for clients with complex needs and confident working within a developing service brief. Past experience in management is preferred but not essential.
