You'll support service users with horticultural, landscaping, DIY and crafting activities. As a charity, our Garden Centres provide supported employment placements for people in our community. You will support service users with horticultural, landscaping, DIY and crafting activities. Share your experience and knowledge with service users to help them build their skills, knowledge, and confidence in a workplace setting. What are we looking for? About you Everyone has something to offer and we offer ongoing training and support. For this role, it would help if you already have several years of experience and some of these skills and attributes or are keen to learn Love the outdoors, wildlife, and getting stuck in. Experience with gardening, horticulture, crafting or DIY projects, or experience supporting adults with a range of support requirements and learning styles. Enthusiasm for gardening and supporting people. A positive and encouraging mindset to help people stay engaged and excited. Good communication skills with a friendly and helpful manner. What will you be doing? As a charity, our Garden Centres provide supported employment placements for people in our community. If you love the outdoors, have some practical skills and experience to put to good use, and want to help people in your community, then this is the role for you. Key tasks This role could include supporting service users in a range of tasks including A range of DIY tasks as needed including recycling timber, making bird boxes, insect hotels, planters, and some site maintenance and decoration. Planting in our polytunnels and beds and making hanging baskets. Weeding, pruning, and general garden maintenance. Upcycling, recycling, and other crafting and DIY tasks. Potting up and watering plants. Forest school activities such as birdwatching and bug safaris.
