We are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Groom/Rider who is looking to further their knowledge and skills. The successful candidate will work alongside our current team handling and caring for our horses but with the main focus on being riding. Working with professional people, the training will give a good foundation to go on and work in any sphere of equestrian. A high standard of care and attention to detail will be expected to maintain the company image we pride ourselves on. Yard Duties will include: Turning out and bringing in. Mucking out. Feeding, watering and haying. Grooming. Clipping and trimming. Maintaining the cleanliness of the yard at all times. Bandaging. Tacking up. Lunging/long rein. Riding. This is a fantastic opportunity (which can be live in or live out) to join a friendly, hard-working team. Within the role the successful candidate will be working toward a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Horse Care with further training and employment available for the right candidate. Desired skills and Qualities Must be able to work alone at time and as part of a team Applicants must had some experience of handling and riding horses and show this on application. Committed Reliable Team player Good communication Friendly Desired qualifications GCSE’s grade C/4 or equivalent, in maths and English are desired but not essential. Applicants must not already hold a level 2 or higher in Horse Care. Future prospects Progression onto level 3 for the right candidate. Training Full training to be provided by the employer and KEITS at the place of employment. The applicant will be working towards a Level 2 Equine Groom apprenticeship. The learner will be allocated an industry specific training consultant who will provide both remote and on site visits throughout the apprenticeship. The apprentice will work towards an End Point Assessment (EPA) at the end of their apprenticeship. Things to consider There is accommodation on site, own transport would be desirable or there is a regular Delaine bus service at the bottom of the road in Peterborough & Stamford.
