Havencare is a forward-thinking and growing charity. We have been making a difference for 35 years, changing the lives of people who have learning disabilities, autism, brain injuries, and other support needs. Our big aims include every person having a home that is right for them, and support for the life they choose.
At Havencare, first and foremost, we are looking for outstanding people who align with our values of Transparency, Quality and Engagement.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, resourceful and forward-thinking person and are excited to be recruiting a Support Worker to support HAWS within our service in Plymouth.
About the Role:
HAWS is a lady who loves a bit of banter and likes familiar sayings spoken to her. HAWS enjoys being around her friends and neighbours and is very sociable, but also values her time alone. She likes lots of praise and has a slapstick humour. HAWS enjoys her cups of tea and coffee, visiting cafes, going out for lunch, walking, and attending social clubs, bowling, cinema, theatre, and her yearly panto outing. She makes good use of her car and goes out multiple times a day for shopping, clubs, or just for a long drive. HAWS lives in her own home and likes things to be done in certain ways. She can do a lot around her home but may need encouragement; if she doesn’t want to do it, staff will need to assist. This includes cleaning, preparing meals, laundry, and day-to-day running of her home. HAWS needs support with personal care, medication, finances, health appointments, and managing her epilepsy.
