Job Description
Permanent contract | full-time 37 hours per week | £22,737 per annum (Grade B) | Dereham
Handyperson
This is an exciting opportunity for a dedicated, enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team.
Ideally you will be someone who can ensure that any decorating and minor repairs in our Children’s Residential Hub are carried out promptly, and to a good standard. We are looking for someone with basic DIY skills, able to paint and decorate, construct flat pack furniture, and be fit and able to provide general practical assistance around the hub.
We support young people who are within or on the edge of the care system. Bringing together a team of specialists through a central hub, New Roads is designed to provide intensive short-term interventions to prevent entry into care, escalation to long term care, prevent placement breakdown or facilitate placement step downs.
You must have your own transport and a clean driving licence, and be prepared to travel; mileage will be paid.
To work within this environment, you will need to be committed to making a difference in the lives of young people. You will need to be reliable, have good personal relationship and communication skills as well as high professional standards.
For an informal discussion about the role, please contact Susan Lovelock – Team Manager 01553 669622.
Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria we are looking for.
