We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Health and Safety Manager to join a high performing construction company. This role is responsible for ensuring that all construction activities are carried out safely, in compliance with legal regulations and internal policies. The ideal candidate will proactively drive a culture of safety, oversee risk assessments, and lead health and safety initiatives across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop, implement, and maintain the company's health and safety management systems in alignment with regulatory requirements.

Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure adherence to safety standards.

Provide training and guidance to employees and subcontractors on safe work practices, equipment usage, and emergency procedures.
*
Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, preparing detailed reports with recommendations for corrective actions.
*
Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure all safety documentation is up-to-date and properly filed.
*
Lead safety meetings, toolbox talks, and safety briefings.
*
Collaborate with project managers and site supervisors to implement job-specific safety plans.
*
Monitor and manage the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safety-related supplies.
*
Stay updated on health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
*
Develop and drive continuous improvement strategies in occupational health and safety.
Requirements:
*
Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Construction Management, or related field.
*
NEBOSH, OSHA 30, or equivalent health and safety certification is highly desirable.
*
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry.
*
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local safety regulations.
*
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
*
Ability to influence and lead change across all levels of an organization.
*
Proficient in MS Office Suite and safety management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
*
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Construction Health and Safety Technician (CHST).
*
Experience managing health and safety for large-scale construction projects or multiple sites.
