We are seeking an experienced engineer to join our existing Energy team. The role involves designing electrical and control systems focused on PLC-based control panels, including cabling, MCCs, drives, controls, switchgear, and related EC&I equipment. This will primarily be within the thermal and hydro power generation sector, although work in other sectors may be undertaken.
This position would suit someone with a good grounding in at least one of the following areas:
* Electrical Engineering
* Control Panel Design and Build
* E&I Installation
The ideal candidate will have experience of/competence in control systems within the energy market (or similar utility) and field cabling systems (P, Inst, Contr, and comms). They should also be competent in control panel design incorporating PLC, I/O, Comms cards, UPS's etc.

The estimated salary for this role is £55,000 - £70,000 per annum, depending on experience. This is based on industry standards and comparable roles in the UK.
The successful candidate will possess essential skills such as experience of/competence in control systems within the energy market (or similar utility), field cabling systems (P, Inst, Contr, and comms), and control panel design incorporating PLC, I/O, Comms cards, UPS's etc. They will also hold a current full driving license (UK or be able to easily convert to full UK).
Desirable skills include experience of at least one of the following: Rockwell (Control Logix), Siemens (PC7S, TIA Portal), Schneider (M580, M340), site installation and commissioning experience of control systems, motor control centres specification, procurement, installation, etc. A good understanding of BS7671 IEE 18th Edition Wiring Regs, awareness of/understanding of DSEAR Regulations and Hazardous area applications, and ability to work to deadlines and budgets are also desirable.
