Description Job Purpose: Overall leadership of the team including responsibility for: commercial performance; client outcomes; operational enhancements; conduct, including managing risk and compliance; and development of the team. Provide clients with investment management services to the highest professional standard, whilst developing existing and new client relationships in line with the Company’s strategic business objectives. General Responsibilities: Manage, advise on, action and administer client portfolios in accordance with their objectives and in line with your defined investment philosophy and market views. Maintain a current and well-informed perspective of the prevailing investment climate and market outlook, keeping up to date with professional developments and ensuring that any action carried out is in clients’ best interests. Actively seek new business opportunities through networking, intermediaries and other referrals. Generate and follow up on leads. Continuously review client portfolios for the ongoing suitability of investments with focus upon Consumer Duty, client outcomes and TCF requirements. Maintain an understanding of broader wealth management services (financial planning, banking etc.) to identify cross-selling opportunities. Ensure any communication received from clients is documented and actioned promptly and efficiently. Ensure personal compliance with all regulatory requirements and contribute to the promotion of a strong compliance culture throughout the division and across the Company. Ensure implementation of, and adherence with, the Company’s policies and procedures. Delegate and monitor appropriate duties to support staff including the administration of client transactions, back-office liaison and handling client queries. Management Responsibilities: Day-to-day management of the office ensuring adequate team coverage, authorising absences, conducting appraisals, reviewing pay and leading recruitment initiatives. Lead on new business development initiatives in order to grow team AUM and revenues. Support and review team business plans in conjunction with divisional management. Effectively cascade management information to team. Ensure implementation of, and adherence with, the Company’s policies and procedures. Delegate and monitor duties as appropriate. Support and monitor applications for exceptions via Income Panel. Monitor and minimise risks (reputational, regulatory or financial) resulting from staff actions. Be a mentor and guide for junior staff across the business. Branch Manager Responsibilities: Health & Safety at Work responsibility / duty of care for colleagues. Oversight of branch investment performance, ensuring alignment with company philosophy. Implement flexible working policy in line with branch needs. Lead business development activity and company brand enhancement locally. Build strong relationships amongst professional networks. Escalate issues to senior management where appropriate. Qualifications & Experience: Fully RDR compliant, with CISI Level 6 qualification as a minimum. Maintain and develop relevant SPS. A proven track record in building and managing a book of private clients and providing them with appropriate investment management solutions. A proven track record of managing, mentoring or coaching teams. Have undertaken internal management training courses. Knowledge & Skills: Ability to manage and coach a team and to deal with issues in a consistent and timely manner. Extensive knowledge of investment processes and techniques, with the ability to explain all relevant investment strategies and asset classes. Fully conversant with the Company’s products, services and governance arrangements. Knowledge of all applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, including the FCA’s Consumer Duty regime and laws/regulations relating to the prevention of financial crime. A broad understanding of financial planning services. High-level risk awareness (reputational, regulatory or financial) resulting from staff actions with the ability to monitor and minimise risks. Resilient and calm under pressure with a methodical and organised approach to work. Strong interpersonal, networking and negotiation skills. A promoter of change with the ability to challenge and contribute effectively. A highly organised and motivated self-starter with a pragmatic and commercial approach to business. Excellent attention to detail particularly when providing written information.
