The post-holder will join the friendly and enthusiastic clinical team based at Prince Charles Hospital and Royal Glamorgan Hospital as a Junior Clinical Fellow in Paediatrics. This post is fixed term to meet service needs.
Main duties of the job
Roles and Responsibilities:
This is a full time post. The posts offer a diverse role and developmental opportunities to suit applicant's interests. This post provides Junior Clinical Fellow cover to the general paediatric and neonatal service.
The post holder will participate in a rolling rota sharing with tier 1 doctors.
Duties of the Post Holder
1. Supporting daily ward rounds in the Children's Ward, Neonatal Unit and report to the senior clinic fellow and consultant in charge.
2. See Patients in Emergency Department when required based on clinical and team situations.
3. Participate in clinical/medical audit, teaching and research within the children's service.
4. Managing the acute paediatric assessments working alongside clinical team with consultant support.

Qualifications
Essential
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification.
Eligibility
Essential
* Applicants must: Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at the advertised post start date.
* Have evidence of achievement of foundation competences from a UKFPO-affiliated foundation programme or equivalent, at the advertised start date in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice.
* Be eligible to work in the UK.
* Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete core medical competences) by intended start date.

* Is up to date and fit to practice safely.

* Applicants must have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English, adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues, as assessed by the General Medical Council.
