TXM Are recruiting for a Project Support Co-ordinator on a permanent basis based in Tonbridge to support our rolling stock customer.
Project Support Engineer (PSE) Co-Ordinator – Permanent
* Location: Tonbridge
* Salary: between £48k to £55k (Receive a company Van and expenses)
* 45 hour working week Monday to Friday. No overtime expected and travel is included within these hours.
* Looking for individuals with a rolling stock experience as necessary as this will be managing a rolling stock contract.
* Looking for the candidate to hold good rolling stock and fault-finding experience.
* Looking for the individual to be based within an hour of Tonbridge.
There will be times they will be on call. If on call 2 weeks in a month they will receive an additional payment before tax.
The key aim of the role is to plan, organise and conduct the required support for our customers and products at both UK rolling stock sites & customer locations. The PSE Co-ordinator is a key role to ensure that our UK products and services are meeting our customers’ expectations throughout their life cycle and our services are delivered in a safe, efficient, and consistent manner. There is a requirement to be ‘hands on,’ physically working on the product, as required.
Key Duties & Tasks
Organise and supervise the day-to-day provision of installation and servicing/warranty support for our UK products, including test, analysis, presentation techniques and other necessary skills to achieve product introduction, commissioning and “In Service” support throughout the equipment’s life.
Ensure that PSEs, Technicians, or contractors are implementing appropriate modification programmes on Company products.
The scope of this activity includes initial planning and preparation of work (tools, parts, competency of team etc.), day to day liaison with customers and keeping accurate, concise records of work completed.
Working with the Project Management team on site or at depots to deliver projects within the budget and on time.
Ensure that all materials/parts, drawings, tooling, fixtures, test equipment are organised and available prior to commencement of a job
Control and request authorisation in advance for team member’s, PSE’s, Technicians, and contractors overtime working
Produce Project plans & production schedules and monitor their efficient delivery using IT systems for analysis
Quality, Health & Safety
• Comply with company and statutory Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental and other policies, and procedures
• Lead by example and ensure the team engage & proactively participate in Health & Safety management processes using appropriate IT systems for reporting
• Ensure that accident and incident investigations and reports on failed / defective components are carried out in line with policies & procedures in a timely manner.
• Ensure that Working Hours of the team are recorded, monitored, and controlled in line with policies and procedures
• Complete / organise competence assessment of the team together with a competent assessor
Customer
• Identify & review revenue opportunities and report to the Field Service Operations Manager and Lead Project Manager
• Deal with complaints made by customers, stepping in and supporting, as necessary. Escalating at the earliest opportunity as required
• Seek feedback to develop and maintain positive working relationships with current and potential customers in such a manner as to maintain the reputation of the company as a world class supplier of railway equipment and systems.
• Ensure required inputs are captured to enable Customer KPI reports to be generated and supplied in a timely manner.
Other
• Provide technical support for OE Contracts and aftermarket sections of UK & Sisco’s, as part of the Intelligent Asset Management Team.
• Allocate work to PSEs, Technicians, and contractors in accordance with areas of expertise, competency, skills, and customer demand.
• Compile or process reports etc. generated by PSE’s, Technicians, or contractors, as defined by company procedures.
• Report general industry intelligence and competitor activity (technical and commercial) to the Field Service Operations Manager and Lead Project Manager
• Maintain discipline, timekeeping and housekeeping on Depots or Production environments in line with IT systems.
• Monitor the team’s work activity, output, and understand issues and priorities that may impact efficient delivery
• Supporting Operations Manager on disciplinary investigations, as necessary
Education & Qualifications
Essential
At least 2 GCSEs or equivalent at Grade C or above, including English Language and Mathematics.
Mechanical and/or Electrical engineering ONC, or NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification.
Desirable
HNC/HND level / NVQ Level 4 / Foundation degree.
Project Management certification/qualification e.g. APM
NEBOSH/IOSH qualification/certification
Skills, knowledge, and experience:
Outstanding technical attributes & an aptitude for fault finding.
Significant technical ability across multiple rolling stock sub-systems (relating to our products).
Significant in leading & co-ordinating teams across multiple locations and projects
Good understanding of Health and Safety legislation & experience in leading safety improvement initiatives.
Ability to train others.
Sound IT skills (particularly MS Excel and Laptop/Tablet computers)
Ability to compile technical reports and customer focussed progress reports.
Ability to efficiently organise team work load and analyse KPI output for improvement actions.
Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.
