Higher Level Teaching Assistant We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our vibrant primary school community in Hackney. As a HLTA, you will play a crucial role in supporting and enhancing the educational experience of our students, working closely with teachers and other staff to help every child reach their potential. Location: Hackney Pay: £100 - £120 per day Start Date: November Interview Date: ASAP Key Responsibilities: Plan, deliver, and assess structured lessons under the guidance of class teachers. Provide targeted support to individuals and small groups to reinforce learning. Oversee classroom activities in the absence of the teacher, ensuring a safe, orderly, and engaging learning environment. Work with students with additional needs, offering tailored assistance to enable full participation and progress. Assist with evaluating student performance, helping to record and monitor progress, and reporting back to the teacher. Provide pastoral care to students, helping them build confidence, social skills, and a love for learning. Requirements: HLTA qualification or equivalent, with GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths. A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification may be considered. Previous experience as a teaching assistant, ideally with experience working as an HLTA or in a similar higher-level support role within a primary school setting. Strong understanding of primary curriculum; excellent communication skills; and the ability to engage and motivate young learners. A passion for education and a commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and adapt to varying needs within the classroom.
