Jerry Green Dog Rescue
* Providing dog-walking services to dog owners within the community that have been accepted onto the scheme.
* Providing a friendly and approachable atmosphere where customers and dogs feel welcome and comfortable.
* Working as part of a team and making new friends.
* Interacting with dogs (and their humans!).
* Some travel to locations (don’t worry, we can provide support with this!).
Tasks and Responsibilities
* Dog need support for many reasons, some with complex needs. We therefore do kindly ask that volunteers who wish to have contact with the dogs have first three attributes listed below.
* You must be able to volunteer alone, or as part of a team.
* Good communication skills, including communicating with the wider team via telephone in line with our lone working policies.
* Have experience of dog behaviour.
* You will enjoy talking to people and building rapport.
* Be empathetic and non-judgmental when dealing with clients who use our services.
* The ability to be polite and courteous at all times.
* To be honest, reliable and punctual.
* You must be able to maintain confidentiality.
* Have a commitment to our core principles and procedures, which will be explained.
* Have own transport.
