Team Structure
We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive IT AV Junior Systems Technician to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their career in AV. The successful candidate will work alongside a senior AV Technician, who will primarily handle the events on our client floor. The junior role will involve shadowing the senior technician during events to learn how they are managed. The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure the smooth operation of 56 meeting rooms within our building, with a particular focus on the main client area.
Your technical expertise will shine as you troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during events, guaranteeing a flawless experience for both our internal teams and valued clients. This will also include any post-production activities.
This role is based in the office full-time and may require travel to events/other offices.
Main Responsibilities
Client floor and Meeting Rooms:
* Diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving technical problems across hardware, software, and network components to ensure smooth operations within all meeting rooms.
* Have a user experience lens to everything, ensuring the technology is simple and seamless to use, be it for internal customers, clients, or others.
* Support routine updates, patches, and system checks to maintain optimal performance and security of IT infrastructure. Proactively reporting issues to the relevant team(s).
* Install, set up, and configure software applications, operating systems, and hardware devices to meet the business needs.
* Offer technical assistance to end-users and clients, guiding them through technical challenges, and effectively communicating complex concepts to non-technical individuals.
* Maintain accurate records of technical issues, solutions, and procedures, contributing to a comprehensive knowledge base for efficient problem-solving in the future. Ensuring issues are logged in ServiceNow.
* Work closely with other IT teams including the global IT Service Engineer community, to coordinate efforts, share expertise, and ensure seamless IT operations within the organisation.
* Ensure all ServiceNow incidents and requests are actioned, kept up to date and that the end user is informed of status.
* Identify, inform, and escalate any patterns or trends of calls in a timely manner to the IT Systems Lead, Service Management team, and/or Change and Adoption team.
* Build solid and authentic relationships with vendors who support our hardware.
* Stay up to date with tools and techniques to support the AV/VC experience within the firm working closely with the senior AV/VC Systems Technician for guidance and suitability.
* Work collaboratively with the Change and Adoption team to ensure the firm is confident in how to use the technology used within the firm, to support self-sufficiency.
* Maintain an inventory of meeting room equipment, supplies, and vendor information.
Auditorium / Events Support:
* Initially shadow the senior AV Technician during events to learn how they are managed and gain hands-on experience.
* Develop the necessary skills to maintain and support event equipment, such as microphones, projector equipment, and Zoom.
* Become a natural in being able to edit videos to support the events team that may be recording a session, ensuring a timely turnaround.
* Learn and develop your skills in Zoom, taking the firm from a basic understanding to a more complex yet beneficial feature-rich experience.
* Over time, become the point person for events, working closely with the team to ensure their smooth running, with positive and complimentary feedback.
Attributes/Skills Required
* Previous experience within a legal partnership or professional services environment.
* Experience of supporting/troubleshooting Windows 10, Windows 11, and Apple Mac devices.
* Familiarity with help desk software (such as ServiceNow).
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Basic technical knowledge of audio-visual equipment and meeting room technologies.
* Proactive and detail-oriented approach to problem-solving.
* Previous experience in a similar role is a plus but not required.
* Enthusiastic about AV and eager to progress in their career.
* Flexible with working hours, which may vary between 8am-9pm.
* Experience of network troubleshooting.
* Experience of AVMI / Video Conferencing.
