Timeout Homes is seeking a dedicated Head Teacher to lead Brearley Hall School, our specialist education provision for children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. The Role
As Head Teacher, you will:
· Shape the school’s strategic vision in collaboration with the Director of Education.
· Lead and inspire a team of teaching and non-teaching staff.
· Ensure high standards of teaching and learning across all subjects.
· Foster a positive and structured school culture, ensuring pupils feel safe, valued, and supported.
· Develop and implement effective school policies and processes.
· Oversee school improvement plans, identifying and addressing barriers to success.
· Ensure that pupils with SEMH needs and additional learning needs receive the support they need.
· Work closely with parents, carers, and external professionals to create a holistic support network for each child.
· Maintain compliance with Independent School Standards and safeguarding regulations.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) and a relevant degree.
· At least 2 years of leadership experience within a school setting.
· Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.
· A proven track record of school improvement and staff development.
· Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and build positive relationships.
· A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and promoting the wellbeing of all students.
· Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and a passion for bettering the lives of children and young people who require help and educational support.
Desirable:
· NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) or NPQSL (Senior Leadership).
· Experience in specialist SEMH provisions or alternative education settings.
· Knowledge of school finance and resource management.
· SENCo qualification
