Job Description Role Overview We are looking for a Resource and Planning Manager to grow Wincanton’s business by leading employees to work effectively, collaboratively and engage together. Reporting to the Assistant General Manager, the successful candidate will be an ambassador in safety, performance, and culture on shift. This role will have full responsibility and accountability for the shift. This role requires a natural leader, someone who has an ability to engage with all stakeholders and an ability to successfully implement change. This is an excellent opportunity to work in partnership with a key strategic customer and build an established and talented contract team. How will you contribute? Develop an optimised plan across varying scenarios accommodating multiple customer demands. Identifying best practices within FMCG environment at Middlewich Shared User. Delivering an overall operational plan. Managing Inbound and Outbound forecasts and schedules, providing the Operational team with clear visibility on weekly activity. Manage all recruitment and signing off agency spend via GRI. Ensuring Time & Attendance information is timely and accurate to drive resource planning, payroll, and attendance management process. Responsible for effective onboarding of colleagues, inductions and taking ownership of probation process. Key decision maker in deciding volume profile, daily plans, and resourcing requirements. Producing a suite of KPIs weekly, monthly, quarterly on performance. Coordinating with site AGM and Contract Operations Manager on the demand greater than capacity and plan to manage customer expectations. Liaising with various customers and LAT Customer Services to ensure all comms to Customers are sufficiently provided. To adhere to and follow Company policies/procedures, including Quality, Health, and Safety to ensure compliance to statutory obligations. Responsible for Health and Safety of themselves and other team members by adhering to safe working practices. Required to support other functional areas and projects at MSU as and when required. What will you bring? Experience in WMS, Microsoft and have exceptional IT & analytical skills to drive performance. A record of accomplishment in delivering innovative performance improvements and operational excellence. Strong experience of logistics / relevant industrial experience and supply chain with varying levels of complexity An ability to react to customer demands by providing project solutions in a fast-paced environment with minimal operational impact. Agile approach to planning with experience of adapting operational plans to changing customer requirements. Manage all change projects successfully and be able to continually review how changes may give benefits to both organisations. An ability to value stream map and identify route cause via analysis to understand issues, create preventative measures, and improve performance. Experience of people management and driving initiatives.
