Role Definition:
We are currently in the middle of the biggest change in packaging legislation for 25 years. The change in legislation means there is a large amount of data to collate, validate and publish. Which in turn feeds into the sustainability report.
Working with the central packaging team this role will be an integral part to helping understand our packaging impact and help to show where change needs to be made.
Please note: For this role, there will be an element of travel around a number of our sites. Therefore, we would advise candidates to consider this before applying as access to own transport is required. The base site is advertised at Birmingham. However, other retail site bases will be considered for the right candidate,
Key Responsibilities:
This role will involve
working with sites to validate and submit the packaging details relating to finished product going to customers.
Validating this data against packaging purchased
Liaising with suppliers to collate the technical detail for the packaging elements
Reviewing the combined data to assist in completing compliance submissions.
The role will evolve overtime due to changes in legislation. Key projects in the pipeline are standardisation of packaging coding across the business, creating a bespoke packaging system which stores all the technical packaging data and specifications.
In this role, you'll be working with our sites which process beef and lamb. This will be including spending time in our abattoir, boning hall and retailing packing area to understand how packaging is used in our business.
You will be responsible for collecting data from sites, identifying what's missing. Building relationships internally and externally, you'll provide guidance and present work to stakeholders. Your responsibilities also include managing your own work with a high level of organisation, responding positively to complex situations.

Knowledge/Skills/Qualifications:
Strong Excel skills (essential)
Power BI knowledge
A minimum of GCSE in English (Grade 4/C) and Maths (Grade 5/B) or above.
Basic knowledge or interest in data and the process to produce end dashboards
Preferable to have a knowledge of packaging within our business
