The successful applicant will be joining a dynamic multi-disciplinary team (MDT) of clinicians supporting the Defence Rehabilitation Service, which includes Primary Care Rehabilitation Facilities (PCRFs), Regional Rehabilitation Unit (RRU) and the Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre at Stanford Hall (DMRC SH).
The aim of the RRU is to return service personnel to active duty where possible, and where not, to ensure they are able to achieve the maximum level of independence and function as they continue their clinical pathway.
This is a part time position, offering 20 hours per week.

Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for delivering the clinical leadership of the consultant-led specialist Musculoskeletal (MSK) and Sport & Exercise Medicine (SEM) service for Defence Rehabilitation, as part of the MDT within the RRU, in order to deliver a world class level of rehabilitation for service personnel.
There may be a requirement to run peripatetic clinics within reasonable travelling distance from the RRU.
Job responsibilities
The duties and responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
* Provision of a timely and effective rehabilitation service to all appropriately referred serving personnel.
* Intelligent triage, early assessment, and appropriate management of patients referred to the RRU.
* Clinical decision-making on further investigation, intervention or referral of complex patients attending Multidisciplinary Injury Assessment Clinic (MIAC).
* Supervision, mentorship and training of Specialist Trainees in SEM and Senior Physiotherapists within the RRU.
* Acting as subject matter expert in support of injury prevention initiatives.
Person Specification
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise. Must have obtained CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) and be on the Specialist Register.
* Trainees within 6 months of the award of their CCST, and consequent entry onto the specialist register, are eligible to apply for this post, however all qualifications and memberships must be held in full prior to commencing in post.
Qualifications
* Medical Degree recognised in the United Kingdom (UK)
* Member or Fellow of Faculty Sport and Exercise Medicine (UK)
* Must be qualified and current in Diagnostic Ultrasound and Injection Therapy.
£105,504 to £139,882 a year Pro-rata for part time. *Pay Award Pending
