Senior Planner – Civil Engineering
Tier One Civil Engineering Contractor

Are you an experienced Senior Planner looking to develop your career on a high profile Civil Engineering project? Then a role with this market leading Contractor could be for you.
My client is a multi billion Civil Engineering Contractor delivering an iconic Civil Engineering project in the South West. They are looking for a competent first principles Senior Planner proficient in the creation and monitoring of programmes for heavy civils projects. The ideal candidate will have come from a Site Engineering background, having worked on heavy civils schemes, and moved into Project Planning. They will be comfortable producing baseline programs using first principles then continuously managing and contributing to the project timeline.
As a Senior Planner your duties and responsibilities will include:
1. Create the baseline program using first principles as well as your civil engineering practical experience and knowledge.
2. Resource and cost load programmes in order to establish and maintain internal and external project controls reporting.
3. Introduce and analyse changes in programmes.
4. Load and track resource and costs.
5. Produce and communicate programme information.
6. Contribute and support numerous operational teams.
7. Evaluate supply chain and subcontract programmes.
8. Present programme information clearly.
9. Ensure compliance with the business processes and systems.
10. Undertake analytical assessment of programmes.
Core Skills required for this post include:
1. Previous heavy Civils experience, preferably for a tier one Contractor.
2. Extensive experience creating a baseline program from first principles.
3. Proficient in critical path analysis, earned value management, S-Curve, resource planning, delay analysis, project recovery, EOT claims, early warning, and compensation events.
4. Thorough experience and understanding of programming techniques using P6 on NEC contracts.
5. The ability to communicate and report the program effectively.
6. Develop and maintain effective working relationships on projects and interface with operational teams and suppliers.
Qualifications:
1. A degree, HND or similar equivalent in a relevant subject is desirable, as is Professional membership of one or more of the following: RICS / CIOB / RIBA / ICE / CIBSE.
2. Knowledge of CEMAR contract platform.
