It's product and process development, and it's working between our early designs and our manufacturing processes. This team works at the forefront of getting our next generation of wound products into our customers hands. The work you do will help to ensure that our new products are modified, designed and developed, to ensure they can be delivered to customers around the globe. We're looking for someone who's passionate about starting a career in Engineering, who also loves innovation, thought and teamwork. What will you be doing? You'll be embarking on an apprenticeship where you not only develop and apply technical skills but also immerse yourself in the entire manufacturing process. From the initial concept to the final hand-over, you'll be at the heart of it all. You'll collaborate with external suppliers, contractors, and various Smith & Nephew sites, ensuring that every project milestone is met. Handling Change Control activities efficiently and conducting technical trials to evaluate processes will be part of your journey, all while creating protocols to maintain quality and compliance. As you gain hands-on experience, you'll complete tasks and report findings under the guidance of experienced experts. You'll assist in critical engineering activities like Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ). Supporting the training of manufacturing personnel and facilitating their transition to regular operations will be another key aspect of your role. Along the way, you'll identify and solve technical and operational challenges, ensuring smooth and efficient processes. Throughout your journey, you'll represent Smith & Nephew professionally in all interactions with third parties, acting as an ambassador for the company. This apprenticeship will give you the chance to grow, learn, and make a significant impact at SN. What will you need to be successful? We're looking for someone with A level qualifications in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or another relevant field. If you have an equivalent level of experience or qualifications, that's great too Innovation is at the heart of what we do, so you'll need curiosity and interest in Engineering processes and improvements. Our apprenticeship program will give you a Bachelor of Engineering in Manufacturing Technologies, providing you with all the tools you need to be successful in your Engineering career at SN You.
