We are offering a 1 year fixed term vacancy for a B7 HCPC registered Dietitian to support the delivery of nutritional care within the inpatient mental health service at Dorset HealthCare. This role covers working age adults and older adults wards. This role provides an exciting opportunity for service improvement and is suitable for a Band 6 looking for new upskilling opportunities in mental health dietetics.
We are offering a great opportunity for a role with a focus on the development of dietetic skills in mental health. We offer the post holder an opportunity to work closely with the inpatient multi-disciplinary teams supporting the physical health agenda for people with a mental health diagnosis, such as dementia, severe mental illness, depression and anxiety, providing expert advice to MDT colleagues on dietetic needs.

This is a fixed term role and for those with current NHS service, the role will be offered on a secondment basis only. Please obtain permission to be released on a secondment before submitting an application.
To manage the day to day clinical service and work unsupervised, autonomously assess, implement and evaluate nutritional care for mental health clients within inpatient, day patient and outpatient services.
To provide assessments for the effective evidence-based nutritional management of people with mental health conditions and provide highly specialist advice, education and support to patients, carers and other health professionals.
To ensure continuous professional development, and be actively involved in audits and research and activities within this specialist area.
