Job summary
This is an opportunity to join the Radiotherapy Physics team, who provide clinical scientific and physics services to the Department of Radiotherapy and Oncology. The Department has a Managed Services Contract with Erga to provide a comprehensive radiotherapy service to the people of Norfolk. The radiotherapy equipment consists of five Varian TrueBeams, 2 CT-simulators, Eclipse treatment planning system, orthovoltage unit and Bravos High dose-rate brachytherapy afterloading machine. The Department is fully electronically networked and largely paper-free. The department has also recently installed SGRT (VisionRT) across all linacs and CT.
The postholder will be expected to work shifts as part of an extended day working arrangement. Some weekend working may be required.
Main duties of the job
Radiotherapy Department at the NNUH. They will take particular clinical responsibility for the development of treatment planning for External Beam and Brachytherapy, supporting the Lead Clinical Scientists for Treatment Planning and Brachytherapy.
They will take the lead in the development of External Beam and Brachytherapy Planning, in terms of the use of scripting, reporting and advanced techniques to streamline processes, such as plan checking, and improve patient treatment. They will also take the lead for the Physics support for skin planning (Electron & kV).
