Service Care Solutions is currently recruiting on behalf of the London Borough of Havering for an experienced Youth Justice Social Worker.
About the Role: As part of the Children’s Services Directorate, the Youth Justice Social Worker will play a vital role in managing a caseload of children involved in or at risk of offending. You will work closely with the Youth Justice Operational Manager and multi-agency partners to deliver holistic and tailored interventions that focus on safeguarding, risk management, and positive outcomes for young people.

Key Responsibilities:
Carry and manage a caseload of young people involved in the Youth Justice System
Prepare high-quality court reports and risk assessments
Support children to access reparation programmes, group work sessions, and evening Panels
Cover occasional court duty, including weekends and bank holidays
Engage with families, victims, and professionals to provide wrap-around support
Attend evening and weekend sessions in line with service needs
Comply with relevant legislation and local authority proceduresRequirements:
Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration
Minimum of 2 years’ Youth Justice experience (essential)
Knowledge of relevant legislation including the Crime and Disorder Act 1998
Ability to prepare professional assessments and present cases at court or panel
Strong communication, organisational and report-writing skills
