The Perfect Candidate
You are a highly skilled Operations Engineer with extensive experience in maintaining and optimising power generation equipment, particularly reciprocating gas generators. You excel in troubleshooting and enhancing plant performance, work effectively both independently and in a team, and are keen to join a forward-thinking organisation driving sustainable energy solutions.
Roles and Responsibilities
* Operate and maintain flexible power generation plants, prioritising safety and operational standards.
* Optimise plant performance, troubleshoot issues, and minimise downtime.
* Keep accurate records of plant performance and spare parts inventory using IT systems.
* Communicate with the central operations team on plant availability, maintenance, and testing.
* Supervise on-site contractors and suppliers, ensuring smooth operations.
* Assist with commissioning and performance testing for new facilities.
* Respond to emergency call-outs and resolve unplanned breakdowns efficiently.
* Ensure compliance with health and safety, environmental, and operational policies.
Requirements
Essential:
* Hands-on experience with reciprocating gas generators, including troubleshooting and maintenance.
* Knowledge of asset optimisation and plant performance enhancement.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Full driving licence and willingness to travel when required.
Preferred:
* Familiarity with peaking engine projects and asset management software.
* Experience supervising contractors and managing on-site activities.
