Work collaboratively with sponsor/client to determine the business case, success criteria and benefits of the proposed project. Developing and agreeing strategies and contracts for the provision of services, monitoring compliance and managing variances for your projects. Consolidating and documenting the fundamental components of projects (scope, schedule, resource requirements, budgets, risks, opportunities and issues, and quality requirements). Will provide a detailed response to the sponsors Instruction or Remit, clearly defining what resources tools and techniques will be utilised to deliver the defined outputs, typically stated in terms of scope, time, cost and quality. Managing the project’s budget, monitoring expenditures and costs remaining within acceptable tolerances in forecasting and authority. Understand the value of the programme/project beyond the financial impact, coordinating multi-discipline teams to agreed and achievable objectives. Managing key dependencies and critical interfaces across related workstreams. Ensuring effective quality assurance and the overall integrity of the project - focusing inwardly on the internal consistency of the project and interfaces with other projects, and corporate/industry standards, passengers’ requirements. Understand and integrate the Regions’ passenger and freight impacts from delivering infrastructure projects in regionally diverse locations. Identifying and monitoring project risks (threats and opportunities), planning and implementing responses to them and responding to other issues that affect the project. Establishing and maintaining governance arrangements for the delivery of projects, defining clear roles, responsibilities and accountabilities, that align with organisational practice. Successful relevant experience in a complex project environment including demonstrable experience in team management, planning, contracting and delivery of projects. Successful record of project budget management and ability to understand and interpret commercial and financial landscapes (budgets, forecasts, actual status). Experience in managing ambiguity in a project environment with strong evaluation and decision-making skills. Demonstrable project safety management practice and knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices. Experience with safety cases in support of projects. You’ll also have: Experience in managing collaboratively, efficiently and quickly dealing with changes using NEC3 to minimise the impact on the overall cost and programme. Demonstrable experience in the rail Industry Sector (including application of GRIP, construction design management (CDM) and the common safety method (CSM). Membership of RICS, CIOB, APM, ICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development. Property or infrastructure project management expertise. Commercial and financial acumen. Experience of leading parts of projects within large, diverse teams. Experience of developing and forming relationships with senior stakeholders. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
