Support Worker

Responsibilities:
1. Encourage the people we support to make their own choices about everyday things such as what to wear, what to do, what to eat, as well as bigger decisions such as where to live, how to spend their money, or where to go on holiday.
2. Enable the people we support to fulfil those choices, including structured activities that help each individual develop their confidence and skills.
3. Assist the people we support in meeting their responsibilities such as paying bills, looking after their homes, being good neighbours, and keeping in close contact with friends and family.
4. Encourage the people we support to be involved in company-related activities such as training, recruitment of new staff, and house meetings.

1. Support individuals to carry out normal household tasks.
2. Understand principles of respect and dignity.
3. Demonstrate patience and empathy.
4. Provide intimate personal care with dignity and respect.
5. Exhibit good communication skills that can be adapted to suit the situation.
6. Speak on behalf of others and communicate with a range of professionals within and outside of Cartrefi Cymru.
7. Record events with empathy and meaning using good written skills.
8. Utilize basic computer skills to keep simple records and find information.
9. Show good observational skills.
10. Work effectively as part of a team.
11. Maintain consistent standards in work.
12. Make decisions and follow them through.
13. Be creative and organized.
14. Manage and record finances.
15. Possess a valid driving license and have access to your own vehicle.
