Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team HMP Spring Hill are seeking Teachers/Tutors to deliver learning, build confidence, develop skills and achieve within a college environment. We are looking for candidates interested in variable hours, on an ad-hoc basis, who want to explore Prison Education. HMP Spring Hill are looking for individuals with one or more of the below skill-sets to support their curriculum delivery. English - Entry 1 to Level 2 Maths - Entry 1 to Level 2 Business Digital Skills Cleaning Customer Service Team Leading Plumbing Carpentry Health & Safety in Construction A teaching qualification would be desirable, or those willing to work towards a teaching qualification, who hold supporting subject specialism at degree level/equivalent or industry experience are also considered - we can provide training to help you achieve your full potential. In addition, security clearance is required for all prison services positions up to Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) ABOUT HMP Grendon & Spring Hill HMP Grendon is a unique Therapeutic Category B prison housing approximately 220 long term, prolific (re)offending adult males. The Education Department works to deliver long courses that help prepare learners for employment and positive living upon release. Including: English/Maths Functional Skills, Digital Skills, Cleaning, Mentoring and Distance Learning. Education runs 4 afternoons (Mon – Thurs) 13:30- 16:30. During the mornings the men are involved in therapy work with a wide team of clinical staff on the wings. HMP Spring Hill is an Open Category D (resettlement) prison, housing approximately 320 male prisoners who are at the end of their sentence and working towards resettlement. Residents at Spring Hill are considered low risk and are well underway with rehabilitation and resettlement. Courses are English and Maths Functional Skills, IT (Entry 3 to Level 1) Carpentry, Plumbing, Customer Service, CSCS, Mentoring and Distance Learning. Education runs 8:30 – 11:30 Monday - Friday and 13:00 – 16:00 Monday - Thursday
