The chance to become a trusted advisor and go-to person for day-to-day HSE issues across a busy manufacturing site.
Hands-on involvement in initiatives that make a real difference to employee safety, environmental performance, and compliance.
A great platform to broaden your skills in incident investigation, risk assessments, PUWER/COSHH reviews, and HSE communications.
Work closely with the HSE Manager and wider operational teams, gaining insights from experienced professionals and actively shaping the HSE culture on-site.Expectations of you:
Act as a point of contact for operational HSE matters, offering advice and support to employees, supervisors, and managers.
Support and help deliver site safety initiatives, Toolbox Talks, and ongoing HSE training.
Investigate incidents and near misses, contributing to root cause analysis and recommending preventative actions.
Coordinate safety communications, campaigns, and internal HSE updates across the site.
Assist with Gemba walks, site inspections, and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Oversee and participate in the HSE induction process for new starters and contractors.
Collaborate with external training providers and managers to plan and schedule HSE training.
Promote a strong, visible HSE presence on the shop floor-offering guidance and championing best practice every day.What we are looking for:
NEBOSH National General Certificate and strong working knowledge of HSE legislation.
Experience in a manufacturing, engineering, or similar industrial setting.
Confidence in applying COSHH, PUWER, and LOLER requirements on-site.
A practical, proactive mindset with strong communication skills and a calm, approachable presence.
Ability to carry out risk assessments and evaluate safety processes, promoting continuous improvement.
Solid IT skills including Microsoft Office, and the ability to create clear reports and training material.Desirable (but not essential):
Environmental qualification.
First Aid or Fire Warden certification.
