Introduction
Are you a GMC registered Psychiatry doctor, with experience of working in Psychiatry as part of a multi-disciplinary team?
Do you live within a 1-hour commute from Ty Glyn Ebwy (Application submitted subject to CQC registration) and want to work flexibly as a Bank Resident Medical Officer, jointly covering 5pm-9am shifts Mon-Fri and 24 hours a day at weekends where available?
You will not be contractually obliged to complete all these hours; however, advance notice will be required for a change in rota. Annual leave and sick pay will form part of the hourly rate, and mileage will be paid through a claims process.
Working in a mental health service, you’ll be providing care and treatment for women who suffer from eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and atypical eating disorders.
As an RMO, you will be delivering a high-quality clinical service to service users, attending seclusion reviews and escalated incidents in a timely manner, completing full physical health screens for new admissions, and working effectively with colleagues to ensure that service users have access to appropriate medical treatment.
There’s a strong emphasis on teamwork and communication in this role, with cover needing to be actively sourced within the medical team.

The RMO Doctor role involves:
1. Reviewing the mental state and physical health of service users.
2. Ensuring adequate handover to colleagues.
3. Taking a lead in managing any physical health concerns that emerge during inpatient stays.
4. Seeking collateral history from other professionals and family.
5. Completing admission assessments in a timely manner.
6. Working effectively with colleagues to ensure that patients have access to appropriate medical treatment at all times, including referral to the local A&E Department if required.
7. Attending monthly clinical and managerial supervision sessions.
To be successful as a Bank RMO Doctor, you’ll need:
1. Full GMC registration.
2. Experience working in psychiatry within multi-disciplinary teams.
3. To have had an appraisal/RITA within the last year.
4. At least 1 year of experience in Psychiatry.
5. Experience working as a doctor within a PICU/Secure services (desirable).
