Location: Bedford College – Cauldwell Street Campus
Salary: Salary up to £21.50 per hour DOE and Qualifications.
Hours/Weeks: 16.5 hours per week – Wednesday 6hrs, Thursday 6hrs, Friday 4.5hrs
Contract Type: Fixed Term – Term Time – Fixed until 27 June 2025
About the role:
We are currently seeking Lecturer in Media to join our Performing Arts department at The Bedford College Group .
As a Lecturer, you play an important role in the success of our students through:
1. Teaching and Assessment - Prepare, deliver, and assess subject specialisms across various courses and qualification levels.
2. Course Administration - Undertake necessary course administration tasks, including maintaining schemes of work, planning lessons, and completing administrative tasks.
3. Student Progress - Monitor, assess, and mark students' work, prepare progress reports, and provide summary reports to managers.
4. Curriculum Development - Contribute to curriculum development, course leadership, and developments within the Programme Area/Centre.
5. Safeguarding and Compliance - Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people, ensure health and safety, and participate in training and development.
About you:
6. Qualifications and Experience - Degree or vocational training in a relevant subject, willingness to work towards a teaching certificate, and recent experience in Media Production and teaching.
7. Skills and Abilities - Strong teaching skills, ability to adapt teaching practices, contribute to curriculum development, complete administrative tasks, and use various computer packages.
8. Interpersonal Skills - Effective communication, ability to build relationships, promote equality and diversity, and create a supportive environment for students.
9. Values and Attributes - Commitment to college values (Student Focus, High Performance, Respect, Openness, Honesty), safeguarding responsibilities, and willingness to update skills and knowledge.
10. Additional Requirements - Flexible approach to work, willingness to work at all college locations, awareness of health and safety requirements, and holding a full UK driving license.
