Our client isseeking a Shift Engineer for their operations in Bala Gwynedd. Therole of the Shift Engineer is primarily to support the running ofthe factory by resolving breakdowns and by delivering maintenance.Secondly they are also required to drive improvement across thesite in terms of new machinery hygiene quality andperformance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintenance Breakdowns andRepairs & Planned Preventative Maintenance(PPM)
Responsible for all reactive and proactivemaintenance work whilst making sure it is carried out to thehighest possible standards across the whole of thesite.
Expected tocarry out all maintenance across thefactory.
Attend tobreakdowns onsite ensuring that there is always a rapid responseand that plant equipment and machinery breakdown time isminimised.
Carry outrepairs to plant and equipment during production effectively andefficiently either alone and/or as part of a team.
To carry outPPM onsite whilst always ensuring that there is a proactiveapproach to planned maintenance and a high PPM output.
Deliver onplant uptime and maintenance KPI s through planned preventative& predictive maintenance.
Deliverimprovement work on machinery and site improvement work.
EnsureEngineering time is managed effectively and that there is lowEngineering downtime
ImproveOEE.
H&S Food Safety andGMP
Maintainingtools and equipment so that they are in a safe working condition aswell as making sure that the workshop and plant rooms are alwayssafe environments.
Always adhereto technical procedures and Good Manufacturing Processes(GMP).
Work in a cleanand orderly manner in compliance with the Company s Hygiene Code ofPractice.
Ensure allHealth and Safety standards are met and that all equipment complieswith Company and legal standards.
Miscellaneous
Maintain dailyEngineering report log.
Assist withstores organisation/stockcontrol.
Ensure workorders are completed on time.
Liaiseeffectively with externalcontractors.
Able to operatethe effluent treatment plant when required.
Willing tolearn new skills (on and off the job) and train others if and whenrequired.
Represent theEngineering department in production meetings and contribute toeffective communication within the Engineeringteam.
Make sure thatthere is good reporting and communication channels in place betweenProduction the Engineering team and EngineeringManager.
Develop andmaintain good working relationship with ProductionManagers.
Present a goodimage of the Engineering department act in a professional andpositive manner at all times.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 yearsengineering experience.
Multiskilled with formalengineering qualification to NVQ Level 3 or higher in an electricalor mechanical subject.
Nationallyrecognised apprenticeship in an engineering discipline;and
Possess 17th or18th Edition Certification.

PHYSICALDEMANDS
Able to be flexible withstart/finish times so they are in line with the productionrequirements.
At busy and at timesdemanding environment therefore the incumbent may need to workextra hours to ensure that both the business and customer needs aremet.
Be able to work in a warmenvironment. The temperature in the factory varies according to theprocesses involved.
The incumbent must bephysically fit as the role necessitates manual handling and workingat height. There can be repetitive tasks lifting is also involvedand bending may be necessary. Should also be able to stand on yourfeet for long periods of time.
Able to work 12hour shiftpatterns either days or nights andweekends.
Some business travel mayalso be required.
