Facilities & Maintenance Technician

About the role
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for completing preventive and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance to manufacturing equipment, fixtures and fittings, as well as building systems and any business supporting tasks. They will be flexible, working shifts from days, earlies, afternoons and possible nights.
What you will do
1. Assisting to create and maintain a fully populated and working CMMS system.
2. Following the maintenance schedule to ensure that all routine tasks are completed and compliance can be demonstrated.
3. Moving, installing manufacturing equipment.
4. Fault finding robots, relay logic, ladder diagrams, controls components, sensors & scanners, motor starters, relays, limit switches, proximity sensors, solenoids, servo drives, frequency inverters, linear drives, and encoders.
5. Communications with departments to organise PPM activities.
6. Carry out weekly checks as required, yard checks, fire doors, emergency exits, legionella etc.
7. Minor building fabric repairs, decorating and general ad-hoc tasks.
8. Working closely with Health and Safety to ensure compliance.
9. Fire Marshall and First Aid duties.
10. Contractor Control management duties.
About you
1. Experience in CMMS & IT skills, ability to communicate at all levels (written & verbal).
2. Practical skills, experience in Electrical & Mechanical and or Multi-skill qualifications.
3. Able to do the job right first time, within a pre-determined timescale.
4. Positive and proactive in approach, possess good customer service skills and able to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
5. Able to work independently (as well as within a team), self-motivation is very important as well as being able to organise and prioritise own workload, develop and deliver Preventive Maintenance programs.
6. Knowledge of statutory compliance and of contractor control management.
7. Be physically fit (as the role includes manual handling of items and using ladders).
8. Willingness to learn and develop in a way to help the department and the business.
9. Clean driving licence.
