POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing Operations Finance Controller to drive financial performance and cost improvements across our manufacturing sites. Reporting to the Head of Management Reporting and FP&A, you'll provide senior financial leadership, deliver actionable insights, and enhance controls to support decision-making.
The role requires a qualified accountant (CIMA, ACA, or similar) with 5+ years' experience in manufacturing or operations, strong analytical skills, and the ability to influence change. Regular travel to sites is required.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
* Lives and role models the company Values and culture at all times.
* Responsible to ensure all controls (ICFR Internal Controls) identified under their area of responsibility are designed and operating as outlined in the internal controls over financial reporting. Ensure policies and processes are established and adhered to ensure goals and objectives for all regulatory and legal requirements are met including organisational quality, environmental, health & safety programs.
* Provide senior finance support to the Operations Leadership team
* Collaborate closely with the on-site management teams through meetings and calls
* Deliver timely, accurate and relevant reports and KPIs to promptly address issues affecting financial goals
* Responsible for identifying and drive proactive cost avoidance activities
* Identify key areas for improvement in agreement with the management team, and drive towards agreed goals
* Ensure financial controls are in place to embed any improvements made
* Liaising with the costing team to understand any variances to the agreed COPs
* Provide forecasts and analysis for the key cost areas in manufacturing operations, including manufacturing variances, labour variances, freight, PPV, overheads and all OCOGS
* Understand and analyse all key variances to the forecast to provide understanding and drive corrective action
* Understand the cost drivers of the business and challenge inefficiencies
* Drive improvements in working capital, via working with the management team to reduce surplus and obsolete raw materials
* Managing the annual operations capital expenditure budget
* Support the management team with capital expenditure requests, providing justification via ROI calculations or similar
* Collate and present site packs to the site management teams monthly
* Present the key financial metrics and analysis to the executive team monthly
* Deliver the annual operating plan in line with the timetable, ensuring buy-in for all inputs
WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
* A qualified accountant, with minimum experience of 5 years in a manufacturing/operations environment
* Strong Excel and analysis tools
* Good problem-solving skills
* Ability to drive change within an organisation
* Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with all levels of the organisation
* Requirement to travel to all sites on a regular basis
