Registered Manager - Children's Home - Learning Disabilities
The Role
To contribute to the development of the Family Care Group’s residential service in a manner that:
* Maximises the life chances of the children that are looked after.
* Ensures safe practice and leads in the management of the establishment, helping to maintain an environment in which children and young people are valued, listened to, and enabled to develop their potential.
* Ensures the Company’s commitment to the safeguarding of children and young people is upheld, and any areas of concern are reported immediately to the appropriate person.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Contribute to the creation of standards of excellence in the Company by attending and contributing to Registered Manager meetings.
* Be responsible for ensuring that information is transmitted to the Business Centre in an accurate format and in accordance with agreed timescales.
* Ensure that all recommendations from the Ofsted Inspection and/or Regulation 44 visits are implemented (or, if the implementation is not within your control, reported in writing and verbally to the Residential Operations Manager).
* Prepare and submit reports regarding your home to the Group Operation Director.
* Ensure that your management team prepares and operates a rota system that will ensure suitable levels of safety, security, care, and oversight for the children cared for in your establishment.
* Take the lead role and responsibility for the coordination of recruitment processes for your establishment with the Company’s Business Support team.
* Supervise your team in accordance with the Company’s supervision policies and ensure that Deputy Manager/Senior Childcare Workers are following this policy in respect of their supervisees by file sampling and any other reasonable methodology.
* Undertake delegated responsibilities allocated to you by the Residential Operations Manager.
* Attend and contribute to your own supervision sessions and appraisal processes.
* Participate in training programmes and individual training courses.
* Contribute to the creation of an environment in which children are afforded high material standards in relation to their physical needs, considering their individual needs, taking into account their ability, gender, ethnicity, religious persuasion, and cultural background.
* Work closely with the home's therapy team to ensure that plans are effective and meet the children’s needs.
You:
Must hold a current valid full driving licence.
CQSW/DipSW or Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or recognised equivalent (or willing to work towards).
2 years in a children’s residential setting or in residential services.
Be able to work on an on-call rota.
1 year management of a team/teams.
