This role focuses on the delivery of statutory food safety and health and safety in the workplace functions. The role of the Environmental Health team is to protect and enhance public health and the environment as required by statute and the policies of Central Government and the Council. This includes taking appropriate enforcement action as required. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role helping us deliver our goals; making a difference to our community. In order to be successful you will need to be an experienced Environmental Health Officer with registration to the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) and/or the Chartered Institute of Environmental Health Professional Registers. You’ll also have the ability to organise and prioritise work effectively in order to meet deadlines and maintain high quality of services at all times. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships within the team and the wider organisation are essential. Above all else, if you’re a team player with the flexibility, initiative and drive to not only contribute to the success of our dedicated Environmental Health team but to the Council as a whole, then we want to hear from you. This role will require travelling throughout the district and visiting premises at evenings and weekends.
