Minimum Requirements
1. Degree in Software Engineering, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, or a related subject.
2. Chartered status with a relevant professional institution or equivalent experience.
3. Knowledge of one or more software development lifecycles (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, etc.).
4. Experience with Siemens TIA Portal.
5. Experience leading small software teams or serving as a technical specialist within a software team.
Job Responsibilities
1. Work to recognized industry standards to produce innovative, high-quality software products.
2. Collaborate within a multi-disciplined team, utilizing various tools and programming languages, engaging in all aspects of the software development cycle.
3. Take responsibility for my own work and that of others, providing technical assistance to support the development of junior team members.
4. Lead assurance and review activities, ensuring that all required configuration, release, and documentation activities are produced in accordance with the relevant standards.
5. Translate requirements into software designs, implement and test solutions, and manage integration, configuration, release, and deployment of products.

The Control Systems software team primarily supplies to the UK MoD, contributing to national endeavors for underwater superiority worldwide. Our team is responsible for system design, build, and/or procurement of major electronic and complex software systems on submarines, alongside the provision of test, integration, and support services. This role allows me to work on significant, high-profile submarine engineering programs, interacting with various internal and external stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence.
