We are currently working in partnership with a Local Government based in Northamptonshire who are recruiting for an Employment Lawyer on an initial three-month temporary contract.
This role is fully remote, on a part time basis at 21 hours a week, with a negotiable rate dependent on experience.
This role is required to assist the Service in relation to employment advice and work as well as dealing with code of conduct work
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Handling a mixed caseload of employment law matters, and providing the relevant legal advice to Council Officers
* Managing a caseload to include compromise agreements, unfair or constructive dismissal, whistle blowing, discrimination, TUPE regulations, contracts of employment, reorganisation/redundancy and conduct and capability cases
* Representing the Council in regards to internal appeals, Employment Law Tribunals and appeals against Tribunal decisions
Experience required:
* Solicitor, Barrister, FILEX, or similar legal qualification and authorised to conduct legal work
* Recent Local Government role
