DEPUTY CARE MANAGER with Specialist Education Services
Salary: £31,364 to £33,945 (depending on experience) plus sleeping in payment as per rota.
Due to expansion, we are looking for a Deputy Care Manager to join our team at Turnstone House (near Beccles) on a full-time permanent basis. Turnstone House is a dual registered children’s home and educational setting, accommodating up to 10 children with social, emotional, and mental health complexities.
The Deputy Care Manager is an important management role, leading the team of staff on duty in the home and holding case co-ordinating responsibility. The person appointed to the role will play a pivotal part in consolidating and developing care practice within Specialist Education Services.
The successful candidate will be part of a team of DCMs, supporting the Registered Manager and Head of Care. Our DCMs lead shift teams, hold casework co-ordination roles for key children, support individual team members’ professional development, and deputise for the Registered Manager whilst acting as duty senior.
The successful candidate will receive:
* Our no limits approach to staff development, and will be working for an organisation with a radical and innovative approach.
* Every opportunity for promotion; many of our senior management have started their career in residential care with us.
* 35 days of annual leave per year.
* Private health insurance, including Employee Assistance Programme.
* All meals while on shift.
* PerkBox – a platform giving high street discount vouchers and promotions.
Minimum Requirements:
Applicants must have a Level 3 Diploma (Residential Childcare or equivalent) and experience of leading in a residential setting. They must also have worked with children with social, emotional, and mental health complexities. We train all our DCM team to Diploma Level 5.
Your current post may have contractual obligations to repay training costs for diplomas or other significant courses if you leave. We value that experience and therefore if you were successful in securing a role with us, we would relieve you of that obligation to your current employer and meet those costs.
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Appointments are dependent on a satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.
Section 7(1)(a) of the SVGA 2006 states it is an offence to apply for this role if you are barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
We are an equal opportunity employer with diversity and inclusion at the centre of everything we do.
