Join the Close Brothers Invoice Finance (CBIF) team where you will undertake financial assessments and due diligence for new and existing customers, supporting the Portfolio and Sales Teams to deliver safe growth.
Our loan book includes complex individual ABL exposures of up to £65m, integrated cashflow lending (both secure and unsecured) of up to £5m, and syndication exposures where total lending facilities could be in excess of £250m.
We're looking for an individual with previous experience performing detailed financial analysis with a deep understanding of working capital. You'll have the ability to communicate and work effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to make strategic recommendations.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Use source data to understand and interpret complex financial models to support lending decisions for both new and existing customers.
2. Review, interpret and interrogate external due diligence including buy-side and sell-side, quality of earnings, net debt and debt like items, working capital analysis and debt service capability.
3. Assist the Sales Teams with structuring new facilities.
4. Assist the Portfolio Team with restructuring existing facilities.
5. Provide independent review as needed by underwriting team.
6. Undertake systemic review of largest exposures, highest value exposures and complex asset classes from time-to-time.
7. Provide strategic advice to heads of portfolio and senior client managers on distressed clients, including liaising with advisors and challenging their progress and strategy where necessary.
8. Steer initiatives within risk environment e.g. building standardised models, design & delivery of training programs on financial analysis/exit strategies.
Risk & Compliance
1. Ensure that all Governance and Compliance requirements are adhered to and all reporting and reviewing activities required by the Regulatory Bodies are carried out to the standards required.
2. Manage risk logs, including actively following up outstanding actions.
3. Perform root cause analysis of risk events, partnering with Operational colleagues to ensure actions are taken to prevent recurrence.
WE WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF:
1. You possess a relevant qualification - ACA, ACCA or CFA (or ability to demonstrate 'qualification by experience' to same level).
2. You have a background in M&A or Restructuring accountancy with a track record of managing engagements, owning client relationships and making strategic recommendations.
3. You're highly experienced in financial analysis on clients ranging from owner managed businesses sub-£5m turnover up to corporates with turnover £1bn +.
4. You have a robust understanding of long term and 13 week cash flows and accompanying expertise in working capital.
5. You're an expert on MS Excel.
6. You possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
IT IS NOT ESSENTIAL BUT IT WOULD BE GREAT IF YOU:
1. Have an insolvency or valuation qualification.
2. Are experienced in contingency planning and formal insolvency.
3. Understand distressed sales processes.
4. Have experience of realisation and/or valuation of receivables or other ABL asset classes (e.g. stock, P&M, property).
